A framework for identifying and measuring value added by corporate real estate

The purpose of this paper is to present how real estate strategies can add value to the core business, providing real estate managers a tool to illustrate how real estate functions add value to the corporations. The paper is based on interviews of 26 corporate real estate executives in several countries and examines approaches to develope real estate strategies and to measure performance. Then the authors model how real estate adds value to the company and how to measure the value. The contribution of corporate real estate to the core business and wealth maximisation can be modelled to illustrate the effects of real estate to financial performance.
