Citizens' participation in rural development

Wiediger, Stephan

The principle of citizenss participation follows the basic principle of help us to help ourselvess. Citizens are called upon to take an active part in the process. For this purpose they are given information, are trained at the schools of village and rural development, take part in decision-taking, and participate in the implementation. The forming of a model promotes understanding between the generations and identification with onees home. As all citizens can take part, they also identify themselves with the result. This positive citizenss actionn experiences the community enthusiasm as a gain. This way a responsibility community is developed between the citizens, the community, and the state.
