Creating e-government by development : the context of SDi in Iran

Naghavi, M. et al.

E-government means informing and boarding services effectively, timely and precisely via various communications such as telephone, internet and so forth. Also, spatial data infrastructure is beyond spatial database. In fact, SDI hosts spatial data, metadata, tools to discover, represent and assess data (catalog service and web mapping) and the ways for easy access to data. Hence, to develop E-government for sustainable development, a process must be done to design and develop mechanism which facilitates decision making by different stakeholders. In this paper, the current situation and different ways to develop E-government in Iran will be reviewed as well as importance and role of SDI in E-government.
