Development of an national land policy in Uganda

Land Policy development process and land reform have been on Ugandaas agenda since the early 1980s when the Government established an Agricultural Policy Committee (APC) that produced a report on land tenure and agricultural development in 1989. A major reform proposed by the Technical Committee set up by the APC, was the introduction of Freehold as a uniform principal land tenure system throughout the Country.
