Drawing on best practice to assess the geomaturity of a country's NSDI using the recent example of the work undertaken Greece

Aalkiviadis Lamprou, Vanessa Lawrence, Georgios Papakyriakoploulos, John Schonegevel

This paper gives a strategic understanding of the changing landscape of geospatial and its increasing use around the globe. It details how the Greek Government’s geospatial community has undertaken work in 2016 and 2017 to improve their own geospatial infrastructure. The paper illustrates how the Government of Greece measured their own geospatial maturity and how they learnt from ‘good practice’ from four nations that were chosen for their known maturity in geospatial information. This paper contains learnings that are transferable to other countries wishing to modernise their own geospatial infrastructure.
