El rol de la academia en una infraestructura de datos espaciales a nivel local

The Distrital University is the academic organization of the city of Bogott (Colombia) and the central region of the country. Therefore its mission is related to the social development process for this area. The strategic vision of the University is to focus the efforts and resources to the following topics: environment, communication, natural resources and management of spatial data. The Cadastral and Geodesy Engineering has 40 years of experience in the Latin-American context in Cadastre and Geomatics education, supported by the following disciplines: Geographic Information Systems, Geodesy, Cartography, and urban and rural Planning. The role of the Cadastral and Geodesist engineer is framed within the national development projects based on the cadastral information and GIS techniques. The Spatial Data Infrastructure of Bogott called IDEC@ was created on December of 2004, in order to generate the politics, standards and a number of aspects concerning to a SDI on a local level. The Distrital University of Bogott as a member of IDEC@, trough the Cadastral and Geodesy Engineering has been working in the activities concerning to the educational side regarding with SDI. The purpose of this paper is to show the developments of the SDI of Bogott and the job done by the Cadastral and Geodesy program as a member of the IDEC@ committee.
