Estonian property market and tax policy

Kurm, Jaan

Currently almost all necessary prerequisites for the normal development of a real estate market in Estonia as well as for foreign investments have been created. Legal acts, needed for the execution of land and property reforms, are also available. In the past few years the pace of land reform has increased. Legislation is relatively liberal even in regard to foreigners and foreign companies. Foreigners are entitled to private land and buildings. Banks are relatively willing to give loans in case real property is used as collateral as well as for property development projects.
