Etablissement du cadastre et institution du livre foncier en Algerie

Brahiti, A.

With abstracts in English, German and French.

In order to deal with the land situation inherited from the colonial period, characterized by the absence of a cadastre and an unsuitable land publicity system, the public authorities in Algeria adopted a set of legislative and regimentationary measures that gave the country a modern land-property system physically based on the cadastre. The objective of the measures adopted is to define the physical consistance and the topographical situation of all land property through the setting of a general cadastre, and to improve the order of the land publicity system considerably through the establishment of a land register.
