Ramdani, Dadan

Location Base Services (LBS) is a service mechanism that provides information about the location. Implementation of LBS can be seen in the Java Specification Request (JSR) 179 has been created by the Java Community Process (JCP), which has been connected in the Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC). With this service we can use the GPS in making programs for the car phone. This paper will discuss the use of GPS in car phone with correction for the determination of geoid height. With a very limited memory usage geoid height should be limited to locations that are not too wide (13 x 13 points) and in a separate file, making it easier to be replaced when necessary. Geoid determination is done by interpolation from grid points contained in the file.
