Implementation of a modern multi-purpose cadastre as basis of a land information system in the Peoples Republic of China : pilot-project Gushan, Fuzhou

Knoop, Hans & Chen, Junyoung & Hua, Dajun

Primary objective of the property cadastre, along with the land register, is the security of interests in landed property, e.g. land ownership. In this context the property maps and the underlying property surveys play a major role. Apart from the security of interests in land, the cadastral registration today is seen as the basic source of information for statistics, town and country planning, taxation and documentation. Therefore the modern cadastre is also called multi-purpose cadastre.
