Influence of GIS technology on land information systems : case study: Finland
Vahala, Matti
In Finland, like many other countries, land register and cadastral systems are being digitised. The process has been completed on the part of attribute data, and the transfer op map data will be completed in a couple of years. The model is based on the old manual procedures of data processing used in Finland as in many other countries. The introduction of advanced GIS technology enables all land information to be converted into one nation-wide data system. The integration of data sets not only guarantees the consistency of these data sets, but it also has more profound and far-reaching implications.
