Intergraph experience with the INSPIRE process and SDI/NSDI projects across Europe
Svoboda, Leos
In this presentation there are four years of Intergraph direct experience with the INSPIRE process as well as SDI / NSDI projects across Europe summarized, including the European Commission funded projects related to INSPIRE. INSPIRE is designed to standardize spatial information services in the various EU Member States to improve policy-making in areas including the environment, transport, energy and agriculture. Intergraph has been a pioneer of SDI since 1994 when it co-founded the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), an international standards organization for geospatial and location based services. Since 2005, Intergraph has been directly involved with the INSPIRE initiative when it established the OGESDI Spatial Data Interest Community (SDIC) and registered experts for INSPIRE Implementing Rules Drafting Teams. Intergraph also directly participates in projects based on various INSPIRE related European Commission programs, including the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES, HUMBOLDT project), eContentplus (GIS4EU, EURADIN, eSDI-Net+, NATURE-SDIplus projects), Shared Environment Information System (SEIS, CAFF project) and the European Security Research Programme (ESS project). Experience from a number of nationwide NSDI and regional and local SDI projects driven by INSPIRE process implemented by Intergraph across Europe is also shared. At all, there is an extensive experience and expertise on top of various Intergraph Geospatial technology and solutions available for projects starting also in the South Eastern Europe.
