Land titling in Cambodia : overcoming land mine issues

Blair, John D.

In the Western World we take recognition of ownership in land and security of title for granted.; This is not so elsewhere in the majority of the world. International Financial Institutions fund projects to create land titles in developing countries, providing security of tenure for the worldds poorest people, thus releasing the tremendous potential for capital generation existing in untitled land. However, the regions in greatest need are often in wartorn, remote regions, and few have tackled the unique problems of bringing the benefits of titling to these areas.
