Every geographical information system, built up by any organization, will not be able to function without a minimum of spatial reference data. Among all the spatial reference data the cadastral map has a priviliged place. Therefore the French tax authorities started two actions, one to prepare an inventory of the needs of the users and one to gain an insight into automation of the cadastral map.
