LIS within the British Commonwealth

Dale, P.F.

This paper reviews the progress of countries in the British Commonwealth towards the development of land information systems. Most countries have adequate medium and small scale mapping and geodetic control networks. Map revision is however a major problem. Cadastral records cover limited areas of each country and although they form the basis for the development of a multipurpose cadastre their lack of completeness means that further progress will be expensive and slow.
