Close range photogrammetry has been used in diversified non-topographic applications. Also it has been proven useful for topographic mapping and map updating. Close range photogrammetry normally involves with large scale mapping and provides excellent accuracy. High accuracy could be achieved with the use of metric camera in close range photogrammetry, however, today manufacturers have stop fabricated metric camera. With the advent in computer technology and software development, close range photogrammetry has been used not only for mapping but it is being used for many applications such as medical, industrial, architecture, archaeology, scientific research and exactra that provide sub-millimeter accuracy. In close range photogrammetry, the metric camera which utilises film is not used anymore. In recent years image acquisition in close range photogrammetry relies on digital sensors such digital camera, video camera, CCD camera etc that are not specifically designed for photogrammetry. In close range photogrammetry, digital camera has been widely used by photogrammetrists, scientists and professionals for various applications. The digital camera can be found in different make and model. The digital camera needs to be calibrated to obtain accurate result and it is a potential measurement tool in photogrammetry.
