In a non-technical and informal manner, this paper will discuss the current role New Brunswick Land Surveyors have in the marine cadastre, discuss possible future roles, and outline some issues regarding the management of the marine cadastre as policies and leigslation are developed. This paper is not meant to be an evaluation of various property rights and interests in the marine cadastre, but merely a reflection on the role surveyors have in this field.
