Matra 2 project as a milestone in standardization and client orientation for the future cadastre in Poland

Kwitowski, A.A. & K.O. Welter

Based on historical background the land registry and cadastre system in Poland is rather divers. Apart from this the organisational structure of the Real Estate Cadastre (REC) is based on independence of the district (Powiat) administrations, of which presently some 400 exist in Poland. As a result available digital REC data is stored in more than 25 different IT systems. Through the Netherlands bilateral programme MaTra, aiming at supporting Central and Eastern European countries in their process towards accession to the European Union, support is given to the REC in Poland. The main objective of the project is supporting the REC in the establishment of a REC database on the province (Voivodship) level and as such supporting standardisation and concentration of data and tools.
