Multi-hazard vulnerability map to support the disaster information system : case study : Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia

National Coordinating Agency for Surveys and Mapping (BAKOSURTANAL), Gadjah Mada University, and Government of Yogyakarta Province have jointly initiated Geo-risk Project, which focuses on providing the information to support disaster mitigation effectively. The final output of this project is a Disaster Information System, a web-based application which stores disaster related data provides user access to support the sustainable development in Yogyakarta. In order to support the system, several hazard maps were developed, i.e.: flood, landslide, drought, tsunami, earthquake, and cyclone. Finally, a multi-hazard vulnerability map for Bantul Regency was created using Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis and combined with the participatory technique.
