New legal regulations concerning the land and buildings cadastre in Poland

Wilkowski, Wojciech & Sobolewska-Mikulska, Katarzyna

This paper discusses organisational changes and new legal regulations concerning the land and buildings cadastre introduced in Poland in 1996 which came into force as of January the 15th 1997. These changes relate to the scope of the cadastre, the division of the country for cadastre requirements, forms of storing cadastral data, the principles under which the cadastre is administered and the principles of its updating. The cadastre which is established on the basis of the new legal principles will constitute the foundation on which the Land Information System will be constructed.
