On land - off shore: strategic issues in building a seamless cadastre for New Zealand

Hoogsteden, C.C. & Robertson, W.A.

With abstract in English.

This paper sets out to explore the components of a New Zealand onshore-offshore cadastre and topographic information system set against the marine environment by attempting to isolate and analyse some of the similarities and differences, for example, defining, demarcating and identifying boundaries. It examines current and likely institutional arrangements to see what the various impacts may be on achieving the required topographic (e.g. seafloor mapping) and cadastral tasks.
