Structural beam replacement using close range digital photogrammetry technique

This study demonstrates the use of digital close range photogrammetry to monitor and measure the structural beam displacements. Load tests on concrete and timber beams were performed under laboratory conditions. A series of digital images were captured using DSLR cameras. The images were then processed and analyzed using photogrammetric technique to measure the beam vertical displacements. The vertical displacements were validated by comparing the photogrammetric output against the displacement results obtained from the LVDTs. The results indicate that the differences betwen the output are not significant.
