The availability and access to cadastral and land related information as a contribution to political objectives
Molen, Paul van der
In achieving political objectives such as reducing poverty, establishing good settlement and land reform, the availability and accessibility of land information is an essential part of the solution. Experiments with cadastral data in GIS, generalization methods, and data integration with remote sensing images, show that cadastral registers and cadastral maps not only may serve legal security of land, but also may serve as a powerful dataset for geographical information. Both purposes are needed as a contribution to political aims.
