Kanakubo, T & Nonomura, K.

The Geographical Survey Institute has been working on the digital national land information project in cooperation with the National Land Agency since 1974. The digital national land information can be used for various purposes i.e. land use planning, urban planning, road planning, water resource planning, environment impact assessment, determination of gravitational correction factors, analysis of wave transmission characteristics etc. There are many ways of using the digital national land information project, for example, to draw digital maps, to assess a number of objects in order to compile regional characteristics and statistics, to combine many items of information on a particular area in order to evaluate the area from a certain point of view, and so on.
