1st Congress on Cadastre in the European Union [CD Gen 11]

On 10 October 1749, under the reign (1713-1759) of the Bourbon monarch, Fernando VI (b. 1713, d. 1759), a Royal Decree was enacted which established the cadastre, or land registry, in the peninsular territories belonging to the kingdoms of Castile and León. These territories are still the same in the Spain of the present day, with the exception, broadly speaking, of what are now the Autonomous Communities of the Basque Country, Navarra, Aragón, Catalonia, Valencia, and the Balearic and the Canary Islands.
