The new cadastre act in the Netherlands
Henssen, J.L.G.
With abstracts in English, German and French.
The Dutch cadastre, which originally only served as a basis for levying land tax, evolved during many years into a land data system for various purposes. The new civil code provides a better protection of third parties in good faith relying on the public registers (legal registers, land register) when dealing in registers goods, i.e. real estate, ships and aircraft. By these facts, an new regulation (a new Cadastre Act) is required. This new Cadastre Act has been drawn up and is now in discussion by Parliament. It is hoped to be in force in 1984. The Service of the Cadastre and the Public Registers is responsible for the execution of this new Cadastre Act, not only for cadastral affairs but also for public registers affairs.
